About the Production

Now a blockbuster movie starring Meryl Streep, Into the Woods began as a Tony-winning Broadway musical by Stephen Sondheim which was first produced right here in San Diego by the Old Globe Theatre. California Youth Conservatory's lively and spectacular production of this fresh twist on the Brothers Grimm, is produced and directed by award-winning actor/director Shaun T. Evans.  The musical weaves together several classic fairy tales into one epic story that goes beyond the happy endings to show what happens when a fairy-tale world gets real.  This amazing production features a live, professional orchestra and dazzling lighting by Michael Hoffman.  The show also boasts a formidable cast comprised of the best of CYC's young performers and several of the city's best professional performers--including the one-and-only Miss Leigh Scarritt as "The Witch."
