CYC Theatre Associate Artists are ambassadors not only for our organization, but also for the honored craft of Theatre Arts. As such, Associates are expected to conduct themselves in the highest standards as teachers, company members and performers at all times while working in any performing arts project. Status as an Associate Artist gives the performer certain special privileges and prerogatives, but also has significant responsibilities and expectations. While CYC Theatre Associate Artists are encouraged to build their resumes; seek experience and training at other organizations; and seek opportunites in professional theatre organizations, it is understood that CYC Theatre Associate Artists are expected to refrain from performing with other youth theatre organizations without approval from CYC Theatre*. CYC Associates are expected to avoid conflicts of interest, and consider our organization as their very own, and should be concerned with its growth and success over that of any other youth theatre organization.
*This expectation only applies to other youth theatre organizations. CYC Associates are, however, encouraged to seek as much work and experience as possible with school, community and professional theatre organizations. If a CYC Associate Artist wishes to perform in a production with another youth theatre organization, he or she must first get approval. Please consider this carefully before applying for status as an Associate.
