California Youth Conservatory Theatre has, since its inception, been on the leading edge of youth theatre programming in San Diego.  Our Conservatory productions have often been of material considered too difficult or challenging by the average youth company--but time and again we tackle it with characteristic boldness, insight and humanity.  For the second time, CYC Theatre has presented the first-ever youth production of a major Broadway full-score musical.  With the insightful and effective help of the brilliant actress/playwrite Karole Foreman and our guest instructor, Rodney Hicks (from the original Broadway cast of RENT), director Shaun T. Evans and producer Kathy Acosta brought to the stage a phenomenal production which featured the very finest young performers this city has to offer.  The CYC Theatre Board of Directors, Artistic and Technical Staff wish to congratulate the cast and crew of this, the first-ever youth theatre production of the full version of RENT on Earth.  Bravo!
