THE STORY

An original Broadway musical, 13 tells the story of Evan, a Jewish kid from New York whose parents' divorce moves him to Indiana. Producers call it a "grown-up musical about growing up." As the new kid, Evan's got to make friends, then determine if they are the "right" friends to have. All the while, he works to get the cool kids to his Bar Mitzvah.

CYC Theatre has an ever-growing reputation for putting youth theatre productions of the very highest quality on the stage.  With an ensemble cast and a hip, catchy score, "13" will be a fun and meaningful project for all who participate in this San Diego premier by CYC Theatre--whose productions always rise far above the usual fare of youth theatre. 

Performances are January 16-31, 2010.  Rehearsals begin November 2nd and are 2 to 3 days per week (on average, and typically Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat) throughout November and December.  Generally, our rehearsals are between 6pm and 8:30pm on weeknights, and Noon to 4 or 5pm on Saturdays.  Rehearsals are held in Serra Mesa (at Gethsemane Lutheran Church) and in Carmel Valley (at Torrey Hills Elementary School).  Please note that not all actors are called to every rehearsal.
